This article is only applicable to those instructors who are working within one of Odigia's OER courses.
If you do not know whether or not your course is an OER course, please contact your Odigia representative.
If your course is a banked course, then everything in your course also lives in Odigia's repository.
Note: "Banked items" refers to both Concepts and Assignment questions.
When an Instructor receives a copy of a banked OER course, they can
- Edit the course outline Set titles, Set goals and Set description
- Edit the Concept titles and the Concept's content
- Edit the Assignment items
The moment an instructor clicks on edit and saves their changes to a banked item, that concept or assignment question becomes a new record on the database and is no longer associated with the bank record.
If Odigia updates an item in the bank, the changes will not apply to any items that have been edited and saved in the instructor copy. If the change you are intending to make to a banked concept or assignment question is due to an error such as a typo, please let your Odigia representative know before making that change, so that the correction can be made in the Odigia Bank instead of only in your copy of the course.
It is important to note that if you edit a question or concept in your course, it becomes a unique question or concept item that will only be found in your course (it will be available in future semesters, if you decide to use the course again). If you see an error within a banked item, please let your Odigia representative know so that the correction can be made in the Odigia Bank.
Furthermore, instructors will also be able to add their own items to their course. Please see this article for more information about editing course content. If you want to learn how to add an assignment or how to add a question to an existing assignment, please see this article.
When instructors add a new concept, they can easily use the Move functionality to place that concept anywhere within the course. See this article to learn more about moving concepts.
When instructors add a new assignment item, they can easily use the copy item functionality to move that item into any area of the course. See this article to learn more about making a copy of a question item.
