Odigia can be added as an External LTI Tool Provider in D2L. If your version of D2L is different than the screenshots shown below, please visit the D2L Support Portal for their latest articles.
- Log into Brightspace as an Administrator
- From the Admin Tools menu, click External Learning Tools
- Click the Manage Tool Providers tab
- Click New Tool Provider
Complete the form by adding the following information:
- Launch Point: URL will be provided by Odigia via email
- Secret: Secret will be provided by Odigia via email
- Tool consumer information: Check
- Key: Key will be provided by Odigia via email
- Visibility: Check
- Security settings: (these must all be checked or the tool will not work)
- Make tool provider available to: You can adjust this setting to the D2L roles and org levels that you wish.
Click the Manage External Learning Tool Links tab, then New Link on the External Learning Tools page
Complete the form by adding the following information:
- Title: Odigia
- URL: URL will be provided by Odigia via email
- Visibility: Checked
- Key/Secret - you can "sign message with" and check the box next to "tool consumer key/secret" (this way you don't need to enter them again) and you can leave these fields blank.
- Security Settings - Select Use Tool Provider security settings. Make the link available to whichever organizations you wish and click Save and Close.
To test the connection as an instructor:
- In a module in the Content area, click Existing Activities > External Learning Tools > Select Odigia
- Rename the tool to whatever you'd like - we recommend that you name it Odigia
THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT:
Make sure to set up your link to open in a new window by following the directions below:
Next to the Odigia link, click the drop-down menu
Select Edit Properties In-place
Select the box next to Open as External Resource.
When you want to open Odigia, select the drop-down next to the Odigia link and select View Topic.
This will take users to a screen with a button that says Open Odigia in a New Window.
Once users click that button, they will be in their Odigia course.
When you click on the Odigia link, you should land in the Odigia Course catalog. If that is what you see, the connection was created successfully.
